I know I have posted in the past on this stream, but it is a lot of fun! Paddlers: Peter, Helen, Derek, Scott and Roger The stream was reading right around 2.6m, which is quite a bit higher than I have ever done it. The day before it was 3 but we decided to wait the one day so it would settle a little bit. We had two swims, one from me at Doctor's Falls, one at first rapid, with some consequence (stitches). The ax factory falls were fantastic, and the water was high enough this time to take them on the right of the hole, which is what I did. Beautiful run as always! www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1_pWe81wOU

That's amazing. Where do you guys put in at on the stream? I'd love to give it a try once I get more experienced with white water kayaking.

Put in: Maxwell Crossing Take out: Prince William St (St Stephen) near old ax factory. Make sure the water is at least 2m high, or you can get caught up in barbed-wire fencing on the lower section. It is a good run with 3 class 3 features. If you ever want company give me a shout!

Thank you Dbradford. I'll be sure to give you a shout. I'm trying to find people to paddle with as I don't like going by myself and none of my friends are into white water kayaking.

Yeah, it's not a sport where a person should be running stuff solo. Too much can happen too fast, and besides, shuttling is an issue as well!

WOW that looks like fun. How many hours is this trip? Looks like you just need to hit everything strait and follow through.

It is about 3 hours, depending how much time you spend surfing in the play spots. Glad we made it look easy? If you watch my swim at Doctor's Falls, I missed my line by about 6 inches. One misplaced stroke and that was that! The first rapid needs scouting, getting to where it looks like hitting it straight is the deal and there is a decent hole that can keep you for a little while (right Ryan?). The last class 3 is Ax factory falls, and it really is the easiest feature because if you just follow the tightest line river left it just shoots you through!

"(right Ryan?)" You're a funny guy. Yes, as with all such small streams, the difference between it looking easy and a near-drowning experience is about 6-12 inches. I've been too timid to attempt anything class 3 since.

I still have the carnage record for that day... lots of water = good, lots of sleep = good; lots of alcohol = bad, no sleep = bad. Gotta get back on that horse!
