Hi Folks, I've never been on the Upsalquitch but hear legends from fishermen and canoeists that it is amazing.
Have been thinking about doing it this spring. Would be quite a drive up there (from F'ton) so would like to find a route that is at least 2 nights on the river.
Any suggestions on "put-in" and "take-out"? Good camping spots along the way?
Is 1.5 (on the UPSALQUITCH RIVER AT UPSALQUITCH gauge) the lowest runnable level?
I hear that Arpin can help with Shuttling. We'd likely use their services, if possible.
I'm pretty good at planning / research ... but would love some advice from those that have done it before.
Thanks in advance.

When I went two years ago, the level was 1.4, a perfect level, no scraping. We put in at 28 mile off the Whites Brook Road on Route 17, the Stuart Highway, and took out two days later at Robinsonville. You will need a local who knows the way in, those woods roads are a labyrinth.

A group of Tumblehomers are going ..."Trip is officially Official. We are canoeing the Upsalquitch River May 18-20. Deposits paid for 5. Anyone else wishing to join simply needs to call Andre at Arpin Outfitters and say you are joining. (506) 284-3140. We will be putting in at 28 Mile, and likely taking out at Robinson Bridge. Two nights backwoods camping. We are organizing meals and transportation for anyone wishing to go. This will be new water for all of us, however, everyone whom we have talked to seems to be in agreement, that it is a fairly easy paddle on one of the most beautiful rivers in NB. Not to late to get involved! No boat or partner required."
