there was ice in sections MArch 13. Paddled it, and walked around a lot of ice. took 4 hours. Probably changed since then.
Started at Estey's Bridge - Took out on Ring road

Hoping to do this tomorrow afternoon. Don't have any experience with the water gages, I know it'll be high but should be ok eh?

I didn't see the Naasis listed on the fed's gauge page, so you need a visual check. If the water is at or above the footings of the bridge at Estey's Bridge, you should be good to go. Let us know how you make out.

To confuse or make it harder to find, it's listed as "MIDDLE BRANCH NASHWAAKSIS STREAM AT SANDWITH'S FARM". Gauge showed a bit above .6M & must admit after finding Ryan's report here I was a bit nervous www.nanookofthenashwaak.com/levels.shtml Anyways, footing under the Esteys bridge was above the water & made for a good place to launch. Not being to bright I took a friend who does not swim or kayak. Well after getting wet twice getting to the same spot Ryan & his gf made it to, he had enough so we hauled the boats back to the truck. Only using sit on tops, but I think it's doable if you know how & when to paddle... www.wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/graph/graph_e.html?stn=01AK006

I find .45 on the gauge absolute minimum level. This is technical manouvering in some of the top rapids. I've canoed it at 1.0 on the gauge and everything is manageable but you take on some water.
AS of this year, I've been down 3 times and there is nothing of concern (new s tree's, etc).
I believe it is about .6 now which is a real decent level. Takes about 1 hour Estey's Bridge to Ring Road. 1.5 to 2 hours to go Estey's Bridge to Stone Bridge.
Cheers

Well we put in tonight at Kingsley/Royal rd about 6pm & managed to paddle 8km. Left a bit of our kayaks on some rocks no doubt, it's technical for sure but a lot of fun. Level was only .42ish, can see where more water = more fun!
Can't post pics directly here eh? Gotta use photobucket or something?
