Anyone have any word on the water level? All this wet weather and mild temps... surely we could get a run in tomorrow (sunday) ;-) If anyone has info, keep us posted.

Thanks Mitchell,
Unfortunately I have a meeting at 5:30 pm, and probably won't be done till 7:00 or 7:30 pm. How long will the meeting last?
If all else fails, I certainly will see you at the pool!
Paul

Meetings last about an hour Paul. I can add you to our email list if you wish. I'll probably be talking to you at the UNB pool tonight anyway.

Question - a few of us are considering paddling the Pollet or the Scoudouc river this Thursday afternoon. Do any of you know if these are completely open now? I would assume so, but someone told me a week ago that there were sections of both that were still frozen.
Also, anyone know the date of the Pollett run? I believe last year it was the last weekend of April....same day as the pancake breakfast in the firehall out there.
Thanks for any help!!

In case anyone is wondering, we did run the Scoudouc yesterday (water was very high), and apparently the Pollett is now a go as well.
Beautiful afternoon on the Scoudouc (I did most of the day in a cotton T-shirt), saw lots of wildlife (5-6 Beavers, a big owl etc), and very few obstacles.
There is one spot (3/4 of the way down the river) that a large tree spans accross the entire river just above water level. Fortunately, this is an area where the current is not very strong. After watching my friend try to go over it, I chose to portage my kayak through the woods, where I discovered there is still plenty of snow whenever I broke though (about waist deep.) This tree could be very dangerous for the upcoming Scoudouc River run unless someone goes in with a chainsaw and removes it. Drinking paddlers + big tree just above water line = possible problems.
