I was seeking some advice on portage carts... see my note below, and got an email from Paddel'en Hal saying to look on Ebay, where I found one for 105 dollars Canadian, and one from Dusan S. who is very happy with his MEC Expedition Cart.
Here are some interesting links....

If you are on this list, it is because you may have somthing of value to say about which canoe cart works the best...
Below are a few links to carts,,, the first one is the cart that Matt brough up for the 2005 Maliseet Trail Crossing (US$129) and the second is an MEC Expeditions version for C$270.
Then there are some others...
What would you reccommend?

My father and I built one similar to number 5 last year. We used wheelbarrow wheels, angle iron and one inch square tubing. Canadian Tire had the wheels on sale, so I think we had about $30, plus about an hour welding. Another option is available from www.wike.ca.
Or what about something like a child's bicycle trailer.

Nookster:
I've gottaa click that mouse and order the one off of EBay....
A well organized group started the Maliseet Trail in May 2009 with home-made carts but the carts came apart and so did months of planning.
I'll keep ya updated.

Got the exact cart used by Tony/Matt and Craig/Nancy when we crossed the Maliseet Trail 2005. www.MaliseetTrail.com
Came from Ebay for $87 US plus $18 delivery

Don't waste your time witht a homemade one as those are unreliable and have been know to ruin trips.
